OTT Releases This Week: A Perfect Weekend for Binge-Watching

From "Modern Masters" on Netflix to "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" on Disney+ Hotstar, there’s something for everyone. 1.) Modern Masters (Netflix)

Netflix’s latest documentary, Modern Masters, honors the artistic genius of SS Rajamouli, the mastermind behind blockbuster hits like the Baahubali series and RRR. Produced in collaboration with Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios, this film explores Rajamouli’s cinematic brilliance and creative process. Viewers will gain insights through interviews with iconic figures such as James Cameron, MM Keeravani, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Prabhas. Modern Masters premieres on August 2 and will be available for streaming on Netflix. 

2.) Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (Disney+ Hotstar)

The latest installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise continues the saga, building on Caesar’s legacy. Set 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes, this chapter follows Noa (portrayed by Teague), a young chimpanzee who, alongside Mae (played by Allan), a human woman, embarks on a pivotal journey to shape the future of both apes and humans. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on August 2. 

3.) Brinda (Sony Liv)

Brinda is a gripping crime suspense-thriller series featuring Trisha Krishnan as a dedicated police officer investigating a series of mysterious murders. As she delves deeper into the case, she becomes entangled in a shadowy underworld. The series promises an enthralling narrative, enhanced by standout performances from Indrajith Sukumaran and Ravindra Vijay. Brinda premieres on Sony Liv on August 2.  

4.) Dune: Part 2 (Jio Cinema)

Dune: Part 2 continues the epic dystopian saga, showcasing the fallout from House Atreides' destruction by House Harkonnen. Princess Irulan, daughter of Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV, documents her father's betrayal of the Atreides. Paul Atreides, seeking revenge, allies with Chani and the Fremen to confront those who devastated his family. As he grapples with the choice between his love for Chani and the fate of the universe, he faces the challenge of preventing a catastrophic future only he can foresee. Dune: Part 2 premieres on Jio Cinema on August 1. 

5.) Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie (Netflix)

Gear up for an exciting adventure with Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, arriving on Netflix this Friday. When Bikini Bottom is mysteriously lifted from the ocean, Sandy and SpongeBob set off on a daring journey to Sandy's home state of Texas. There, they enlist the help of Sandy's clever and spirited family to mount a bold rescue mission, determined to save their friends Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and the rest of the gang from an uncertain fate.
